Summary
The story follows the 1961 Home Run Chase that saw both Roger Maris and Mickey Mantle challenge the ghost of Babe Ruth in their assault on the Babe's 60 home run record of 1927.
It takes us back to the rural North Dakota childhood of Maris and interweaves his life as flashbacks set against the high pressured pennant race of 1961.
Peppered with the comedic highlights of Yogi Berra and Casey Stengel and the public's outcry against Maris, the story traces the history of the record.
